Crochet: Headset Ear Speaker Covers

Crochet: Headset Ear Speaker Covers

I use my headset every day and the thin foam covers wore out.  I ordered some new ones but won't come for a few days, so I whipped up these cute covers. I may end up using these permanently! They are so comfortable.

Comfortable speaker covers!

Materials:

  • Crochet Hook G / 4.00 mm
  • Red Heart Super Saver Solid Color
  • I used the 'CafĂ© Latte' skein

Stitches (U.S. Terms):

  • SC = Single Crochet
  • DC = Double Crochet
  • CH = Chain
  • Magic Circle

Pattern Notes:

  • The starting 2 CH or starting 1 CH is not counted.
  • Rounds are joined at the top of the first DC stitch, ignoring the first 2CH or 1CH - this makes the circle look complete without a gap.

Front & Back view

Pattern:

  • Round 1:
    • Use a 'magic circle'.
    • Chain 2. 12 DC.
    • Join to the top of the first DC.
  • Round 2:
    • Chain 2. 2 DC in the same (first) DC.
    • 2 DC in each DC around.
    • Join to the top of the first DC.
  • Round 3:
    • Chain 2. 1 DC in the same (first) DC.
    • 1 DC in each DC around.
    • Join to the top of the first DC.
  • Round 4:
    • Chain 1. 1 SC in same (first) DC.
    • 1 SC in each DC around.
    • Join to the top of the first SC (not the 1 CH).

Crochet Pattern: Bottle Tote

I had some left-over Lily Cotton yarn and decided to make a tote to carry my water bottle.

Using Scraps, change colors by drawing up the new color to complete the stitch.

I used a size G Crochet Hook.  I think this pattern will work for most 16-20 oz. water bottles. See photos on
Ravelry.

Bottom:

SC in the round rows in multiples of 6
(rows will have 6-12-18-24-30 stitches)

Row 1: Start with a magic loop. 6 SC in magic loop. DO NOT TURN
Row 2: 2 SC in each SC. (total 12 SC) - slip stitch into first SC, CH1 turn.
Row 3: *(1 SC, 2 SC) Repeat around. (total 18 SC)
- slip stitch into first SC, CH1 turn.
Row 4: *(1 SC, 1 SC, 2 SC) Repeat around. (total 24 SC)
- slip stitch into first SC, CH1 turn.
Row 5: *(1 SC, 1 SC, 1 SC, 2 SC) Repeat around. (total 30 SC)
- slip stitch into first SC, CH1 turn.

Body:

The first row is a 1SC, 3CH skip 1SC pattern.  The second row is an alternate type of row - with 1 SC in the 3CH loop and a 1 CH space, skipping over the 1SC.  Join rounds with slip stitch and slip stitch into next stitch to begin next round - do not turn ; continue in the round.
Row 1: 1 SC, 3CH, skip 1 SC, join.
Row 2: slip stitch to begin in 3CH space. (1CH skipping 1SC in row below, 1SC in each 3CH loop) around, join.
Repeat rows 1-2 until desired length. Do not fasten off.

(I completed 10 repeats - 20 rows total)

*Body Variation:
for the first and last repeats - on Row 2 - instead of (1SC in 3CH loop, 1CH, skip 1SC) -- do (1SC in 3CH loop, 1DC in the 1SC on the row below) around, then join.  This will make the first and last repeats thicker and look like a 'band' at top and bottom of the tote.

Handle:

40 CH from where you ended last row.
Join to opposite side with 1 DC.
Going back across the 40 CH, 1 DC in each back loop.
Join to beginning side with 1 DC.
To reinforce strength of handle, 1 Slip Stitch over the middle of each 1 DC stitch. If desired, repeat 1 Slip Stitch again over middle of each 1DC stitch next to first 1SS.
